What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care profession that emphasizes prevention, treatment, and optimal health combining the wisdom of nature with the rigors of modern science and evidence-based research. In so doing, it supports the human body’s inherent and intelligent self-healing process.
Why are there no license for NDs in Florida?
Naturopathic practitioners were first licensed in Florida in 1927. In 1957, the Florida Legislature abolished licensing authority for naturopathic medicine due to the dwindling number of naturopathic doctors in America. Practitioners licensed as of June 30, 1959, could continue to be licensed; however, no new licenses have since been issued.
